special: We hear that Oscar nominee Tom Hardy and Atlanta Primetime Emmy nominee Zazie Beetz to star in Apple TV+ drama series Lazarus, a project that is still close to development and deals closed. The project is a co-production between A+E Studios and Range Studios and is being sold to Apple.
Lazarus Based on the Juna Linna book series by Lars Kepler (pen name of Alexandra Coelho Ahandoril and Alexander Ahandoril), which has been praised by such outlets. New York Times, Washington Post And EW, Selling over 17M copies worldwide.
In the series, a despondent young man wanders off the railway tracks. Thirteen years ago, he and his sister disappeared, victims of notorious serial killer Jurek Walter. To find the sister, police detective Saga Bauer must go undercover at the maximum-security psychiatric hospital where Jurek Walter has been held since his arrest years ago. Hardy will play Jurek Walter and Beetz will play Inspector Saga Bauer, in what I hear are Hannibal Lecter-Clarice Stalling type roles.
Øystein Carlson is set to write, executive produce and direct the series.

Hardy received an Oscar nomination for supporting actor Revenant. He starred in and executive produced the FX series abstinence He also had a story and producer credit Venom: There Be Carnage.
Beetz received a 2018 Supporting Actress Comedy Series Emmy nomination for her turn on FX Atlanta As Donald Glover On-off again girlfriend. Her feature credits include Bullet Train, Joker, Nine Days, The Hard They Fall, Deadpool 2, Seberg, Among many others.
She will be seen in the upcoming crime drama mini-series “Full Circle”. The series will be available to stream on HBO Max this year. She is currently in production for the upcoming comedy series “History of the World: Part II” produced by Mel Brooks and written by David Stassen. The series Beatz is coming to Hulu on March 6.
